Is the Procedure Safe?

Absolutely. We use all disposable equipment. Many places sterilize to cut costs resulting in safety hazards. All procedures are performed in a surgeon’s office in a procedure room.

Does it Hurt?

A topical numbing cream is used. Most people describe the feeling as a “tweezing sensation” if anything is felt at all.

Could I be Allergic?

There have been so few reactions to our pigments that some doctors are suggesting that the patch test be eliminated. If you are concerned, you may take a patch test. It is important to remember that you can develop an allergy to anything at any time.

Are there any Health Concerns?

Cold sores may be set off by the lip procedure. We suggest that you take a cold sore medication from your doctor. If you are diabetic you may have a slower healing time.

How Will I Look Following My Procedure?

Minor swelling, or redness on the day of, and following the procedure. You will have scabbing for about a week.

When Will I See the Final Result?

The pigment will be much too dark for the first week. Then it will look much too light. It takes 6 weeks for the final outcome. Then it is time for your touch up.

How Long Does the Procedure Take?

About 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. Some of that time is taken for drawing and perfecting.

What if the Color Goes Out of Style?

I always suggest using neutral shades and staying as conservative as possible. Permanent make up will start to fade in 1-5 years, average being 3-4 years. You can also adjust the color at yearly touch ups.

What Factors Affect How Long the Color Lasts?

Skin care products. While we are looking better than ever, our skin care has exfoliating factors that speed up the fading of permanent makeup. The sun also fades the pigment.

Can I have an MRI?

Dr Frank Shellock of “UCLA School of Medicine” the top school of MRI safety said, “Only a handful of people have reported minor problems around the eyeliner area and no problems have been reported on the brow area and lips.” In the rare instances that there was slight redness, it was found to be non damaging.

Anytime you take a sharp object with any type of pigment and implant it into the skin, it is defined as a tattoo. There are many different methods to achieve this effect. There are machines, hand pieces, needles and blades.
